Ice Ice Baby

When it’s hot and muggy out, nothing refreshes like a cup of yummy shaved ice.

It’s one of my favorite summer treats.  Absolutely love it.  Of course when it’s the middle of winter, I can’t say I’m as fond of ice, shaved or otherwise.  I guess we have more of a love-hate relationship.

When ice is involved in spanking play, the love-hate thing is never more apparent.

When a cloth wrapped bag of ice is placed gently on my hot, sore, swollen bottom of a spanking, I love it.  Has to be a bag of ice cubes though as an ice pack doesn’t distribute the weight well and can be heavy and painful.  An ice pack also doesn’t cover the entire area nicely.  Beads of water can drip down in between the cheeks as the ice melts (and boy does it melt fast on a hot bottom), but the cloth takes care of that.

The ice helps to soothe the skin in the moment and also helps to reduce some of the deep muscle soreness for the days to come.  Don’t worry those of you who enjoy the lingering pain, it doesn’t take it all away!!

Now, ice used before a spanking?  Not my friend.  Ever accidentally smack your glove-less hand into something after having been out in the cold a while?  The intensity is multiplied and it’s no different when it comes to those poor bottom cheeks.  Ice does not numb the area, it amplifies the pain.  Not my cup of tea, but for those seeking a safe way of upping play.

For those that enjoy more intimacy during spanking play, a single ice cube can be put to use before, during, or after a spanking in the ummmm … backdoor.  I don’t know if that is painful or not, but I imagine it’s a very intense sensation and provides and additional challenge for the spankee to stay still and focused.

Do you enjoy a bit of ice incorporated into your play or as a soothing part of aftercare?
