Tomorrow night the full moon will be at its closest point to the Earth this year. This “supermoon” will appear bigger and brighter than at any other time and is due to be at its best at 11:35pm. I’m toying with the idea of trying to stay up late enough (with the help of a good nap) to take some shots though I don’t have the best vantage point from my home with the woods and mountains blocking my view of the horizon.
As I thought about it, it occurred to me that Supermoon Saturday would make an excellent spanking holiday. A super spanking for your super moon until it’s glowing it’s brightest? Absolutely. Appearing it’s biggest – optional. And to think that this year the supermoon falls on Cinco De Mayo, that could make for one fantastic time!
