Just a quick note to let you know that I’m alive and well after Hurricane Sandy. I have been without power though for over a week and it’s not looking like it will be restored any time soon so I must make this post brief so as not to eat my phone’s battery life.
I am living the pioneer life at the moment since the power loss means no running water or heat in addition to no lights, TV, or Internet. I’m making do though, loving our alternate heater, and we have plenty of non-perishable food items (many of which I’ve become quite creative in cooking over the heater). Although the estimated date of power restoration to my area is now being pushed out until sometime next week or even around Thanksgiving (eek!), I consider us to be very fortunate to not have sustained any damage to our home or property. Unfortunately many in the area were not as lucky as we were and have to contend with homes damaged by trees, fire, and power lines with transformer boxes draped along the ground.
So, obviously I won’t be online much at all until things have been repaired and there is much work to do before that happens. I appreciate the emails and notes I’ve received asking if things are ok and will write when I can. I hope all of you in living in areas that may have been affected are getting through ok as well.
The Punished Brats website updates will go up as scheduled though with much thanks to Richard Windsor for helping to make sure content is available as usual.
